Monty's First Ironman
Hey guys,
Just wanted to check-in following Ironman Australia.
Had a really fun day (with the last 10km excluded) and managed to get away with 4th in my first Ironman.
I’m not sure what I expected... but Ironman is HARD! Like REALLY HARD!
Big props to anyone that gives it a crack!
Very satisfied to come away with 4th, and some val... read more

"I've had my eye on the P5 since Cervelo first launched it. It immediately grabbed my attention. My first and only TT bike so far was a 2010 P2 which I have loved (and which has probably done more kilometers than my car!). When it came time to start thinking about a new TT bike it was pretty clear from the attraction to the P5 over othe... read more

Sascha Bondarenko - Chengdu Race ...
The race in Chengdu was a great first time experience overseas. I finished off with 23rd from a field of 50+, in which I was the youngest competitor. Although it was no breakthrough result, I was still reasonably satisfied.
After having some issues on the start line with officials putting their Chinese athletes in my slot, I was then placed out... read more
Ironman Melbourne - Race Report -...
How good is racing at home. It means no flight delays, hire cars, hotel rooms, restaurant meals or course familiarisation. But most importantly, it means the best spectator support I’ll ever receive during a race. Knowing how many people were watching, I suited up in my CBD cycles kit (for the first time) and lined up on the start line of I... read more

Hello and...
Welcome.
I truly hope that was a 'warm' welcome. I actually despise puns so I thought I'd hit you with one early to get it out of my system. Unfortunately I cannot promise to avoid including tacky GIF's throughout my future blog posts. You'll just have to deal with it.
I know what most of you will b... read more

Well, another interesting day to try and qualify for Hawaii.
A year ago I skipped the perfect conditions of the inaugural Ironman Melbourne as I decided to race Ironman NZ a couple of weeks earlier, an iconic race and one I’d been planning to do for years. Of course the weather didn’t coope... read more
Sam Hume - Xterra Race report
Just a quick note to let you know I raced into 5th place overall and 1st age grouper at Xterra GOR yesterday.
Legs and body felt good going in 2 weeks post IM Melbourne. The intensity of the shorter race was so much higher then what I usually do in half and IM distances, and my already limited MTB skills dropped off a little. That said, I staye... read more

Ironman Asia Pacific Championships 2013 (Melbourne)
Ironman is supposed to be a 3.8km swim, a 180.2km draught free bike and a marathon. I’m not quite sure what Sunday was, but it wasn’t ironman. Swim conditions in the bay were admittedly pretty gnarly although as Luke Bell tweeted, “it ain’t pipeline”. So the swim was shortened to 1... read more

Coast to Coast World Multisport Championships – New Zealand, February 2013
Coast to Coast does not, as it turns out, have a very imaginative name. It’s as literal as you can get, starting on the west coast of New Zealand’s south island in the sand at an otherwise unremarkable, deserted beach whose claim to fame is a permanent sign post in... read more

A quick update on my past two races.
My second ever Elite race was the Devonport Continental Cup, which was held on the 23rd of February in Tasmania.
